How to use Transoso
Follow these steps. Each takes only a few seconds.
1. Sign in
- Click “Sign in with Google” at the top.
- Choose your Google account. You land straight in the translator.
2. Pick languages
- Bottom bar, left: the first flag is the spoken language (globe = auto-detect), the flag after the arrow is the target language.
- Click a flag to change it. You can change languages while listening; existing text stays.
3. Start translating
- Press the round mic button in the middle (or the Space key). The first time, your browser asks for microphone access: choose “Allow”.
- The original appears in the top panel, the translation below. Faded text is a draft and brightens once confirmed.
- Press the red button to stop.
4. Translate YouTube or Google Meet audio (desktop Chrome/Edge)
- Open the tab you want to translate.
- In the app, click the small mic icon next to the flags → choose “Another tab's audio”.
- Press the round mic button. In Chrome's share dialog choose “Chrome Tab”, pick the tab, turn on “Also share tab audio”, then Share.
5. Speakers
- Each speaker gets a coloured label (Speaker 1, Speaker 2…). When someone introduces themselves (“I'm Sarah”), the label becomes their name.
- Click a label to rename it.
6. Save your transcript
- Copy icon: copy everything. Download icon: save a .txt file with the original, the translation and speaker names.
Tips
- 💡 Wear headphones when translating calls so the mic doesn't pick up the speaker.
- 💡 Turn your phone sideways to see both panels side by side.
- 💡 The app stops itself after 5 minutes of silence to save your time.
